Enthusiasm is contagious

I believe in the power of education. Deep down in my soul. And it’s this core belief that translates into a high level of enthusiasm and excitement for student success in my classroom.

I believe so strongly in the impact of enthusiasm on motivating students, capturing their attention, and enhancing their learning that I wrote my doctoral dissertation on the topic.

Education + Enthusiasm = Student Success

  1. Fostering an ethic of care and trust so my students feel safe to cross the bridge into discovering more about themselves and those around them. Having a sense of humor and connecting with them through the power of story are also key components. 😊 Wonderful read, Andrea; thank you!

  2. Dr. Dinardo, I love all your articles and appreciate your insight. Looking to continue on reading your work. Follow each other ? I’d love to take that chance. Thank you and god bless.

    1. Thank you Kamal! It took years into my practice before I realized how much my core values & beliefs supported the foundation of my work. Now whenever I feel off center or overwhelmed by outside influences, I bring myself back to my founding principles: “Educate with Enthusiasm!” 📚💫

  3. Well said, Dr Andrea. 🙂
When I was a student I had too many teachers, I felt, who showed little or no energy for the subject, but expected us to have it… which I found a bit disappointing.

The best teachers definitely were/are the ones with that selfless, generous passion for learning, sharing and illuminating(!)

    Thank you for sharing. 🙂

    1. Grateful for your input Buffy! And isn’t it equally true for life outside the classroom. The more excited & passionate we are about life, the more exciting life becomes. Even for something as small as a cup of coffee & as profound as a beating heart. 🤸🏻‍♂️☕️🤸🏻‍♂️

  4. Enthusiasm is certainly contagious, as are all emotions. It’s so important for those in leadership positions to display positive emotions because they are so contagious.
I imagine your classes are high energy and engaging. Lots of fun for your students.

    1. Thanks Jerry for sharing for your ideas on emotions, learning, and leadership. So true! Emotion is everything. In learning and in leadership. Thanks also for your insights about my teaching. You read it right; there’s a lot of joy, laughter, and high energy in my classroom. We (mostly) get what we give. (Boomerang effect.) In the classroom and in life. 📚💚

  5. Yes and to continue educating yourself is also important. I’m learning Spanish and I’m proud of how at my age I can speak and converse now with others. It’s an ongoing process but I’m doing it!
