You were born to thrive!

Do not fear challenge or adversity.

Run towards it.
Not away from it.

Use it consciously.
As a stepping stone.

To ascend.
To soar.

To propel yourself forward.

To begin again.

For strength is ultimately built from challenge, from difficulty, from overcoming.

You were born to thrive!

  1. Hello Dr Dinardo,
This is wonderful! Thank you so much. I heard every word. I really appreciated you discussing positive Psychology and Dr Seligman. It’s a topic I’ve been exploring very much lately. Your students and the staff are very fortunate to witness your passion and enthusiasm to name only two.
    Great post thank you 💐✨✨

  2. Start from what is right. This was my absolute favorite coping tool I walked away with from your lecture. Then work on the rest. Loved the lecture Dr. Andrea! MANY great tips, I just happened to have a favorite! ~Kim

    1. Thank you so much Kim! Not only for watching my video but for your thoughtful feedback. Your favourite idea from my presentation just gave me a great idea for a blog post. “Start with what is right.” I love how fellow bloggers connect & get each others’ creative juices flowing. The best! 💛💫

  3. Andrea,
You are too cute! You are a great speaker! You brought up Maslow! I love Maslow. 🙂
I love how you say that you are positive 99% of the time. I am too. I believe it’s because I focus on the good in my life and what’s right in my life (as you had indicated) over all of the problems. It helps a LOT.
I think education is VERY important as well.
    Very good talk. Great job!

    1. Thank you so much for watching! And for your awesome feedback Ipuna. We have so much in common. Being positive 99% of the time is a conscious practice for both of us. Resilence and happiness are habits that must be cultivated. It doesn’t just happen.

I spent a lot of my life thinking I was just lucky when everyone else spoke negatively about their lives. So much so that I used to hide my positivity (and the hard work and adverse conditions that I overcame to get there) so that other people wouldn’t feel bad about their own situation.

Then one day I woke up (aka turned 40) and began to celebrate who I was. (And how I got there.)

      Good vibes & all. ☀️

      1. Yes! We have to work at resilience, happiness, and positivity, as you indicated. Over time, I haven’t had to work as hard on it. It becomes you!
That’s interesting on your life! I can relate. People used to tell me that I have so much energy. I felt like I should calm down. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve embraced my energy. It is who I am. I don’t try to calm it down anymore!
Ha ha on the turning 40! My time is coming in about 1.5 years. 🙂
I’m so glad you embraced all of you! That’s great!!!

    1. Thanks Yamina! An important reminder for us all. As almost every post, is a “note to self”.

No matter what we see in the news. No matter what we think in our darkest times. Suffering is not our destiny. Triumph, overcoming, and resurgence is.

We were born to thrive (& rise)! ☀️

  4. You are a good speaker. I’m impressed.
I’m also impressed that for the most part the captions are right. (or at least I hope so because I got a lot out of it.) Keep up the good work. and thank you for supporting me.

    1. Thank you! Especially for taking the time to watch the video. Your feedback is kind and very motivating!💖💫

And YES! the captions are right. Ultimately, you have to “believe it to see it”… but I can see it in you… and I hope you can too! (Because if anyone’s a fighter Wendy, it’s you.)

      1. I may not always seem to, but I do see it in me too. I do believe it. And I am a warrior. Reading your words brought tears to my eyes, with a smile. thank you.

  5. Andrea, this is beautiful! I see you seeing & honoring the hearts of your students. What a gift to them, as I see it 🙂

Also, I love your reference to nature. Funny, because I wrote my blog today on a strawberry plant that hadn’t bloomed in quite some time … and just did!

You also have a caring, relaxing voice. Listening to it right now. Blessings Andrea to the wisdom and compassion that you share and encourage in those you touch.
