Who motivates you?

Students, past and present, motivate me!

“The future of the world is in my classroom today.”

One of my first year BScN nursing students (Mona on the right) asked if I would sign the psychology textbook that I co-wrote and take a photo with her after class this week.

She said that an encouraging note and a picture with her professor would give her the motivation she needed to stay focused, work hard, and study throughout the semester.

Of course I said yes! It was a full circle moment. For my students are my motivation. And everything I do is with their success in mind.

Also pictured above are Sarah Ryrie (on the left) and Justin Fox (in the middle) – two St. Clair College alumni and former student representative council presidents who continue to inspire me today!

  1. Ah how lovely that it has gone full-circle. I think a similar thing happens with my kids and I – they inspire me to work hard and get a better life for us, and, in turn, (I hope) I inspire them to work hard and get a better life for themselves.

And congratulations because someone loved this post so much, they added it to the BlogCrush linky! Feel free to collect your “I’ve been featured” blog badge 🙂 #blogcrush

    1. Thanks for sharing Lucy! And for letting me know about the blog crush link. Just reading about your full circle inspiration energizes me! I bet your children teach you something new & exciting every day. How lucky we are to be lifted up by the people in our lives. Full circle joy. ⭕️💃⭕️

  2. How wonderful that you and your student are both each other’s motivation! I think that’s fantastic as everyone’s motivation grows this way. 😀

For me, aside from a few awesome people in my life, my WordPress community is my motivation! Since started blogging, I’ve met so many inspiring, motivating and positive people like yourself, and I’m grateful for that. ❤

Also, I wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Liebster Award! (Link here: https://storiesofahsi.wordpress.com/2017/09/27/liebster-award) This is to show how much I appreciate your blog. 😀
And I’m sorry for the delay in notifying; I’m still catching up to my favourite blogs. 😅

  3. Thats so great a student felt that way! My kids motivate me every day. I try to be better for them #blogcrush

  4. From the moment I wake each day, I feel and see many factors motivating and challenging me to be the best I can be. e.g the birds in the orchards, the homeless fellow in the street, the sick people in hospitals etc.

  5. Full circle indeed, how wonderful that she thinks so highly of you. Who motivates me ? I would say that many people motivate me, right here on WP. We are surrounded by many inspiring writers and individuals who make the world a better place.

  6. That’s so great that you care so much about your students. More teachers/professors should feel this way. Caring about the success of others should be why someone wants to teach in the first place. Who motivates me? I’ve never really thought about it, but I guess children and animals.

  7. That’s an interesting question, which I had to sit with. I realized I motivate myself! And an inspiring writer or published author (plenty of them here on WordPress) motivates me too.
