About Dr. Andrea Dinardo

Background and Overview

Dr. Andrea Dinardo is a positive psychology expert, keynote speaker, and leadership trainer who helps people thrive under pressure, build resilience, and cultivate mental health daily. She is a psychology professor at St. Clair College of Applied Arts & Science in Windsor Ontario Canada and a retired psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She is also the author of several psychology articles and textbooks and a TEDx presenter who shared her insights on how to turn stress into strength. She has a popular YouTube channel and a blog where she offers psychology tips and exercises for mental health empowerment and daily resilience. She is passionate about applying positive psychology to facilitate personal growth and transformational change in individuals and organizations.

Professional Designation and Education

Dr. Dinardo received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Western University. Afterward, she completed the post-doc internship and exam requirements of the College of Psychologists to become a fully registered psychologist (C. Psych.) in the province of Ontario, Canada.

As a registered psychologist specializing in school and counselling psychology, she spent 18 years working with students, educators, and their families. She retired from her psychologist practice in 2016 to dedicate more time to psychology teaching, speaking, and writing.

AERA New Researcher Award

Dr. Dinardo is the recipient of the Robert J. Menges New Researcher Award from the AERA Special Interest Group on Faculty Teaching, Evaluation, and Development for her doctoral research: An experimental analysis of the effects of teacher enthusiasm on student attention, motivation, and learning.

Teaching Positions

Psychology teaching positions include Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) with St. Clair College and the University of Windsor, and the B.E.d Diploma in Technological Studies at the Faculty of Education, University of Windsor.

Dr. Dinardo also taught for a number of years in the psychology department at Western University while pursuing her Ph.D. in school and counselling psychology.

  5. I love this!!! I am of like mind. I’m no professor, but I am just as good as one – I’m a homeschooling mom! Go me! I have chosen to guide my children towards a solid foundation of emotional wellness; I place the importance of who they are first and then what they know about this world second.     I worked in the early childhood field with children, parents, teachers, and family child care providers. Now I run my own business teaching Tai Chi (and performing), Qigong, and yoga. Movement therapy. And meditation, writing, therapuetic touch…
